A very attractive 1862/1 over-date three cent silver piece graded MS 63 by PCGS. it carries an excellent strike throughout both sides with some major die clashing on both the obverse and reverse. This over-date variety coin is a tough coin to find and in seldom offered in this grade level. it holds some beautiful originally toned surface most notably on the reverse. We believe this coin to be much more attractive in person than what is shown throughout the photos provided.
The PCGS Coin Facts show that of a mintage of 343,000 they estimate that only 3,000 of these have survived that are the 1862/1 three cent silver variety coin.
