An attractive 1861 S better date seated liberty half dollar graded XF 45 by NGC. It carries a sharp strike most notably throughout the reverse. It also has very attractive surfaces with some toning throughout. A tougher San Francisco Mint date to find in this mid-grade level.
This San Francisco Mint date holds a fairly high mintage of 939,500. However, of this mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 550 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 12 graded Extra Fine 45 by NGC.
