A very attractive 1858 S liberty head double eagle $20 gold piece graded XF 40 by NGC. It carries superior details for the grade with a good amount of luster remaining throughout both sides. Please note, although this coin holder is entirely intact, it does have a mark on the bottom-right side of the obverse of the holder that looks like a crack.
This San Francisco Mint date holds a mintage of 846,710. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 1,209 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 69 graded Extra Fine 40 by NGC.
