An attractive 1857 flying eagle cent graded MS 61 by NGC. It carries a decent strike throughout both sides with very original and attractive surfaces. This is not the most lustrous example for the grade but does holds original an un-messed with surfaces. A very appealing coin overall that is perfect for a nice U.S type set or flying eagle cent collection. This date is very popular among type collectors being the first affordable year of the series. It holds a very high mintage of 17,450,000. Of this excessive mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 4,000 of these still exist in Mint State 60 or higher condition such as this one. This coin is one of only 153 graded Mint State 61 by NGC.
