An 1840 with drapery Seated Liberty Quarter graded AU 53 by PCGS. It holds a very sharp strike with some lightly toned original surfaces throughout both sides. This date is very hard to come by in this mid-grade level. It is one of the nicest we have owned for this 1840 with drapery style and has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder.
This date holds a small mintage of only 188,127. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 350 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only six graded About Uncirculated 53 by PCGS.
