A very pleasing 1839/6 coronet head large cent graded F 12 by NGC. It holds great detail for the grade with a perfect chocolate brown patina among both sides. This coin is one of the toughest to find for the entire coronet head series. It is seldom offered with such nice original surfaces and approved by CAC for quality such as this one.
This Phildealphia Mint date has a total mintage of 3,128,661. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 600 have survived in all grades today that are the 1839/6 variety such as this one. It is one of only 14 graded Fine by NGC. It is also one of only three approved by CAC for quality.
