An early 1836 classic head half eagle gold piece graded Extra Fine Details 'Cleaned' by PCGS. We sent this coin into PCGS thinking it would have a good shot at straight grading, however, they decided to be very strict on this one. Although it has had a light old time cleaning, we have seen far worse in problem free holders. It has the perfect amount of detail for the grade and overall a nice look. It has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder. This early American gold coin has a total mintage of only 553,147. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 1,150 have survived in all grades.
