1834 50c Capped Bust Half Dollar NGC XF 40 Extra Fine Small Date Small Letters

A very attractive 1834 capped bust half dollar graded XF 40 by NGC. It carries pleasing detail for the grade with an original and appealing patina throughout both sides. We believe this coin is small date and small letters style and is specifically the Overton 116 variety. This date holds a huge mintage of 6,412,004. However, of this mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 5,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only two graded Extra Fine 40 by PCGS.
