A perfect original 1824 capped bust half dollar graded AU 58 by NGC. This appealing coin has a strong strike with crusty original toned surfaces among both sides. It has been notated to be the Overton 117 variety and has been housed in an older style NGC holder. It has also been approved by CAC for quality.
This date is common to the series with a high mintage of 3,504,954. However, of this large mintage few have survived to be in this condition for this variety. It is one of only seven graded About Uncirculated 58 condition for the Overton 117 variety.
