A very attractive 1817 better date capped bust half dollar graded VF 25 by PCGS. It carries excellent details for the grade with crusty original and attractive toned surfaces. This coin has been notated to be the Overton 111a variety by PCGS.
This date carries a high mintage of 1,215,567. However, of this large mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 3,000 of these have survived in all grades today. This coin is one of only two graded Very Fine 25 by PCGS that have been notated to be the Overton 111A variety such as this one.
