1817/3 50C Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS AU 50 About Uncirculated Overdate

A tough 1817/3 Capped bust half dollar graded AU 50 by PCGS. It carries a strong clearly over-date on the obverse. It holds very original toned surfaces most notably around the rims of each side. A very tough variety coin to find in this grade level. This coin is by far the nicest we have ever offered for this particular variety. This date holds a mintage of 1,215,567. However, of this mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 1,000 have survived that are this 1817/3 over-date variety. It is one of only 30 graded About Uncirculated 50 by PCGS.
