1798/7 10c Draped Bust Dime NGC AU 55 About Uncirculated 16 Stars JR-1 Tough !

A tough 1798/7 draped bust dime graded AU 55 by NGC. This coin holds an above average strike with some attractive toning as shown in the photos provided. It has been notated by NGC to be the 16 Stars Reverse Style and specifically the JR-1 variety. This coin is seldom ever offered in this pleasing mid-grade and is the nicest we have ever offered for this variety. It has been housed in a newer style NGC prong holder. This early Philadelphia minted coin holds a tiny mintage of only 27,550. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 200 have survived in all grades. It is one of just five graded About Uncirculated 55 by NGC for this variety.
